Doing a new thing

Let me just start with saying, I am blessed. I have awesome children. My daughter, Kaitlyn, has encouraged me to start blogging. She even set up my account for me. Since this is my first blog, and I haven’t even decided what direction I want to take this whole thing in, I ask for grace.

Now that is something that we could talk about right now. Grace. We all need grace, don’t we? I know I do. I need a lot of grace. Sometimes I just need grace for myself, from myself. Anybody? I expect a lot from myself, and when I can’t deliver I come down on myself something fierce. I am a typical, type A personality. I really don’t need somebody pushing me to try harder because I am probably already killing myself trying to get it perfect.

Perfect? Does that really even exist? The only perfect that I know is Jesus. I can try to be like Jesus, but let’s face it, that is all I can do. Try. I can try, but I need to remember to give myself grace. God gives me grace daily. I should try to be more like Jesus in that way. Give grace. Give it to myself and then give it to others. When we admit how much grace we ourselves need we are more apt to give grace to others.

2 Corinthians 12:9 (ESV) But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
