Don’t be blinded by your desires or deceived by a form of logic that denies Christ.

Question – “If He is truly a God of love then why torment us with Hell?”

Answer- “Why do we  send lawbreakers to prison? We do it because laws are put into effect and the consequences of choice determine whether you are free or bound.”

We all have sinned; we have all broken the law of God. Jesus has offered Himself up in our place. The cost for this service is to come under His authority so He can keep us from continuing down The path of destruction.
If you find yourself in Hell it will be by your choice, not God’s choice.
2 Peter 3:8-10 (ESV)
“8 But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.”

Life is too short and eternity too long. Don’t be so consumed with the present that you fail to prepare for the future.
Revelation 20:15 (ESV)
“15 And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.”

When One Hurts, We Rally

Well said, Dax. We need to be actively involved with the church, not just attend it.

Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Philippians 2:4

Good friends of mine lost their house in a fire this week. They lost everything but pot holders, a signed basketball, and a few pictures salvaged. Fortunately, their lives were spared. And of course that is really what matters. Nevertheless, I am hurting for them and the loss of not only their valuables but those things that cannot be replaced… picturesand awards and certificates that are precious to us as families.

Their loss ignited an outpouring. Our church rallied. The amount of prayers and support would inspire the greatest doubter that people can really care. It was inspiring to see. It reminded me of an absolute truth… We need each other. You really do need your church. You might think you don’t but I assure…

Diapers and Dog Hair

My cousin’s daughter is a new mom. She wrote the cutest blog. I just want to share it. If you are expecting or are a new mom, or maybe you have been there done that, you might enjoy reading this. Have a blessed day. ~Momma Birdy

A lot people smirked at my determination to return to work after baby. They assured me that I would change my mind. I nodded and smiled, but knew with certainty that wouldn’t be the case. I loved my life as a vet tech and I was secretly terrified of becoming a mom. I didn’t want to worry anyone by admitting this, but tiny little babies aren’t really my forte. I’m a kid person for sure, but I usually prefer them to be a little less fragile, and capable of some basic verbal communication. So I figured I would need the part-time promise of escape to keep my sanity. I’m fortunate to be in a position that allows me the choice, but I was absolutely sure I would choose to continue working. Until I didn’t.

I quit my job working with pets and their people to fully embrace life with a…

Verse Application

The Bible keeps coming to mind as I ponder what to write about this week. Normally I am inspired by something I have read, by a dream, or by some life event. The Bible is such a huge topic. How do I narrow it down? I opened my Bible up to where I
have been studying;  a verse jumped out at me. This is definitely what I coffee & devoneed to share.
1 Peter 2:23 “When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly.”(ESV)

This verse is about Jesus. In verse 21 we learn that Jesus set an example for us. We need to follow in his steps. This brought me to a place of repentance. Let me confess something to you. I do not sit by silently when reviled. I can snap easily. I would like to say that I am doing better. But, in truth, I just avoid situations or environments that I know might breed conflict in any way.

I pray that in the future, if I find myself in a situation where I am tempted to shoot off at the mouth, that I will entrust myself to God who judges justly.

Let us learn about Jesus and strive daily to be more like him. There is so much to learn. But, don’t stop at knowledge; apply it. If you have dry skin that itches, put some cream on it. Just because you have cream sitting on your counter, and you know what it can do for you, doesn’t mean that you are getting the relief that you need unless you apply it.

Knowing the principles of God will not put you on the path to walking in His blessings; applying His principles to your life puts you on that path. I encourage you to walk in His blessings. Nothing worth doing is easy, but it is always worth it. God bless you.

By His Grace,

Momma Birdy
